Section 336 is back with all three regular hosts, as The Zany Bert Rode is finally back from Disney (for now.)

This week on the show, we look back on the first half, figure out what the O’s need to do to improve in the second half and get back to October, and review what was another great (Walk-Off!) Night at the Yard.

Leading Off

Matt is having some issues with getting older, as he had his first “old man” moment playing softball last week. He won’t be giving J.J. Hardy as much grief going forward.

The guys are also playing in the “Celebrity” Softball Game at the Frederick Keys Stadium in a couple weeks, so Matt needs to heal up!

Night at the Yard

The third annual 336 Night at the Yard was last Friday, and the Birds beat the Nationals on a Jonathan Schoop walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The night started with some fun at Sliders, where obscure O’s jerseys included Garrett Atkins, Jim Traber, Vlad Guerrero, Jeff Conine, and others.

Thanks to Uncle Dave for his between-inning Orioles trivia! We might have to do a live show from Club 66 in Edgewood, where Uncle Dave is basically the mayor.

Thanks to everybody who came out and we hope you all had a great time. Until next year!

First Half Review

Who are you impressed with or not impressed with in the first half? Which player has pleasantly surprised you? Who has disappointed?

The names Jimmy Paredes, Chaz Roe, and Bud Norris come up often.

The Birds are 44-44, but the entire AL (not just the East) is down, as only the Royals have 50+ wins so far.

Home Run Derby

Did you like the new format? What did you think of Manny Machado’s 12-homer performance?

Manny also had some hits in the game, and just missed a home run, while Adam Jones was quiet, and Zach Britton was good except for an error. Other highlights included Mike Trout and Aroldis Chapman.

Is the All Star Game as fun to watch now that there is interleague play every day?

This Week…er, Who’s Gon’ Do Ril Good?

In this new segment, the guys pick their “picks to click” without calling it that.

Franchise Four

The Orioles’ Franchise Four were revealed to be Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson, Cal Ripken, Jr., and Jim Palmer.

Should Eddie Murray have replaced somebody? Vote here:

Matt Makes Facebook Mad

Check out Matt’s article on ESR from this week, which isn’t “this is who the Orioles should trade,” but is instead just laying out the O’s most valuable assets.

The lesson, as always, is that commenters on Facebook are not good at either reading or reading comprehension.

All that and more in this week’s (very) big show. Give a listen!
