Adam Jones has had a bit of a rough go of it in center field this season.
His uncharacteristic misplays of balls have cost the O’s runs – and potentially, games – on several occasions.
A few weeks ago, Jones acknowledged that he needed to “clean it up.”
“I just know I have to get better. And I will. It is a long season. But it starts today,” Jones said Friday. “Because the mistakes I have made I have never done before. And they are costly. It’s not like they are leading to extra bases. They are leading to runs. Our pitchers are out there busting their tails and I am the last line of defense and I can’t let them down.”
Last night against San Diego, Jones showed off some of the form that has made him a two-time Gold Glove winner in his short career, covering a TON of ground and leaping at the wall to potentially (tough to tell) rob Carlos Quentin of his second home run of the night.
