Just when we thought the Birds might put together their first winning streak of spring – carrying a one-run lead into the bottom of the 9th against Toronto in Dunedin – they snatched tie from the jaws of defeat, as Chris Lee served up a solo home run to Dalton Pompey to blow the save. Thoughts on the Rotation and Rickard
Roch Kubatko checks in with a report that the Birds may ask Joey Rickard – currently a righty who throws left-handed – to try switch-hitting here soon. Rickard, this year’s Rule 5 pick, seems more likely to make the Opening Day roster all the time. Roch also says that Buck Showalter considers there to still be some competition for the five spots in the starting rotation.
