Three Orioles were nominated for Gold Glove awards this year, and three Orioles took home the award.
J.J. Hardy, Adam Jones, and Nick Markakis are all 2014 Rawlings Gold Glove winners.
It was Hardy’s third consecutive Gold Glove and third overall. For Jones, it’s his third consecutive and fourth overall (he also won in 2009), and for Markakis, his second overall, with his first coming in 2011.
Congrats to all three very deserving Orioles. Manny Machado, 2013’s Gold and Platinum Glove winner, was unfortunately ineligible due to missing so many games to injury. Hopefully Machado is back on the podium in 2015.
#Orioles have won 70 total @RawlingsSports Gold Glove awards, 6 more than any other AL team & 2nd in MLB behind the #Cardinals’ 85 awards.
