The weather for Friday’s home opener looks like straight DOO DOO here about 48 hours out. The hope is that this line of storms either unexpectedly speeds up or slows down so as to not arrive, ya know, right AT game time. Ugh.

On the bright side, the Birds are 2-0 so far playing under a roof in Florida. Here are some links!

Clevenger’s Agent Wonders What Future Holds for Catcher

Steve “Pride of Pigtown” Clevenger spent an entire game on the MLB roster to start the season, before being sent down to make room for Chris Davis, leaving Ryan Lavarnway as Caleb Joseph’s backup. Personally, I like Clevenger over Lavarnway, but that means nothing, obviously. Steve’s agent has some critical words for the Birds (hey, I made a rhyme), via MASN’s Roch Kubatko.

5 Pro Baseball Teams that Get Craft Beer

I don’t know about you guys, but I love me some craft beer. Ever since I had my “gateway beer,” a Sam Adams Oktoberfest, back in about 2006 and realized “hey, beer can taste good!” one of the great pleasures of my life has been trying every beer I can get my hands on. It’s been awesome for me and other beer lovers that OPACY has embraced the local craft breweries at the ballpark, while even brewing their own beer on-site at Dempsey’s. Emma Janzen of Food Republic says the O’s are one of the Top 5 teams as far as “getting” craft beer.

Bird’s Eye View Episode 116: You’re Only Live Twice

In their final podcast of the offseason, Jake & Scott give their 2015 predictions, take a walk through the crowded medical wing, and of course, blow the save. (Audio – 58 min)

Porcello Deal May Increase Tillman’s Price

It would have been really nice if the O’s and Chris Tillman could have worked out a contract extension during Spring Training. Not only to ease our minds as to the issue of having a staff ace for the foreseeable future, but because now some dominoes are falling that may only make Tilly more expensive. One of those is Rick Porcello signing an $82.5M extension with Boston. Over at Camden Chat, Mark Brown breaks how the situations of the two pitchers compare and contrast.

Davis has a New Mindset After Being Reinstated

While the results weren’t there (0-for-3, HBP, K), it was still nice to see “The Big Fella” back in the Birds’ lineup on Tuesday. It was the first time Davis had played in a game since last September 10, and as he tells MLB.com’s Britt Ghiroli, he was “pretty fired up,” in his first few AB. He’s embracing a new mindset this season, and hopefully the results will be more 2012-13 and less 2014.
