Happy Staturday Birdland! We’re off to tough start after the All-Star break but fear not, the Orioles are still doing some pretty special things. Particularly, the Orioles’ bullpen continues to be dominant. Because of their dominance, this week’s Staturday is dedicated to our closer, Zach Britton.

Remember the last time Zach blew a save? Yeah, me neither.

On Friday, Zach Britton successfully converted his 33rd consecutive save opportunity, the 3rd longest streak in Orioles’ history.

It’s also been since April 30th that Britton has allowed an earned run. In his games since then, he’s set an Orioles record:

Zach Britton has pitched in thirty-two straight games without allowing an earned run. This is the longest streak by any pitcher in Orioles’ history.

Zach is reaching milestones that the Orioles’ best-ever relief pitchers have also reached… including Gregg Olson:

On Thursday, Zach Britton converted his 30th save of the season joining Gregg Olson as the only Orioles to have three seasons with thirty or more saves.

Okay, I couldn’t go an entire Staturday without mentioning the Orioles power. Like their bullpen, their power is also ridiculous:

Last night, Manny Machado hit his 20th home run of the season and the Orioles joined the Rockies as the only teams with three players who have twenty or more home runs.
