As we return from Sarasota, the Orioles signed another player, the Ravens signed three players, and both teams released a guy. Not to mention the Orioles won, Kim gets on base, and Maryland gets in the tourney. We have a lot to talk about today on Section 336.
Leading Off
It’s Matt’s anniversary, but he wasn’t going to postpone the show for it. Blame Bert and Josh for this coming at you a day late. Josh is now the proud owner of a three-legged dog.
We’re less than three weeks from Birdland Radio! Check out the schedule here:
More Dingers
The Birds picked up Pedro Alvarez since we last spoke, and to make room for him, they got rid of our Spring Training interviewee Andrew Triggs.
Christian Walker offered to give left field a try. Hey, why not? First base is kinda locked up for a while.
Does Joey Rickard become our favorite defensive replacement?
Does it matter who the backup catcher is?
Hyun-soo Kim finally got on base a few times. Did O’s fans jump the gun by penciling him into the Opening Day lineup as soon as he was signed? Hopefully he’s finally getting comfortable and figuring things out at this level.
Starting Woe-tation
Miguel Gonzalez has been terrible. Ubaldo Jimenez has been great in comparison, but still bad. Yovani Gallardo? Also bad. The only starter with an ERA in the single digits is Kevin Gausman.
Worried yet?
Who should start on Opening Day? Should Kevin Gausman be the de facto “ace?”

Baltimore Sports in Popular Culture
In this week’s edition, we’re Sleepless in Seattle, with some love for ol’ Number 5.
Ravens Talk
When will sports talk hosts realize that the Joe Flacco “elite” thing is a joke? The Ravens picked up Ben Watson, Eric Weddle and Mike Wallace, so how do we feel about those moves?
Terps Talk
The Terps are in the dance for the second straight year. We once thought they’d have a shot for a number 1 seed, but their late slide pushed them all the way to a 5. How far do the guys have them going?
Ball Bag
The Redskins have a crazy new stadium design. It has a moat around it. Good idea/bad idea?
ESPN posted an article titled “How Many Home Runs Will the Orioles Hit if the Orioles Hit Home Runs?” What can we expect?
What’s up with this Adam LaRoche retiring thing? Because he can’t bring his kid to work every day?
What are you excited about for the Orioles in 2016?
