Today on the show Josh welcomes Glenn Clark from GlennClarkRadio.com. Josh and Glenn talk about everything including: the Olympics, Orioles, Ravens, College Basketball, CFL Football, Sports Media, “cupping,” and booing players.
Leading Off
Glenn got in on the “cupping” fad that Michael Phelps and the USA swim team have made popular this week.
O’s Talk
The Birds still can’t win on the road, which is infuriating. What’s the deal?
Glenn really hates the Oakland Coliseum.
Stop whining about the low attendance at some O’s games. Let us explain why.
We still have tickets on sale for our Night at the Yard on August 20. Come out with us and get your Chris Davis/Samson bobblehead!
The O’s all-or-nothing offense is painful to watch, but it would be on us to have expected anything different.
Do you panic when Dylan Bundy does his no-hitter flirtation thing? Should the Baltimore media be tougher asking questions of Buck about Bundy?
New Media
Glenn has his hand in the old media cookie jar with PressBox, and in the new media cookie jar with GlennClarkRadio.com. The O’s have been better about embracing new things than the Ravens have, while the smaller local colleges have been much more open-minded than the University of Maryland.
Other large colleges have been similarly slow to embrace change.
Retirements
Prince Fielder and Mark Teixeira both announced their retirements this week. Would you have been glad if Tex had been traded to the O’s this offseason if Chris Davis wasn’t re-signed?
Who will be the villain now?
Football
We were gonna talk about the Ravens, but mainly got sidetracked talking about the Baltimore CFL Colts/Stallions.
