Today on the show: spring training games are finally her! After the Orioles almost lost Gallardo and Natty Boh last week, this week we talk about losing Fowler and pie. We may even get to a little Ravens and Terps talk as well, on this edition of Section 336.
Leading Off
Matt’s just now learning how to use his microphone, 150+ episodes later. The guys are leaving for Sarasota this Saturday for a few days of Spring Training action. The guys go over some ST memories from 2014 and 2015. They’ll have a SURPRISE interview in Florida. Will Bert actually ask a question, or just stare like a creeper? Stay tuned next week.
Fowler Growlers
The most exciting move of the offseason turned out to be nothing but a huge tease, as Dexter Fowler opted to go back to Chicago after it looked like he was an Oriole. His agent, Casey Close, bashed the Orioles and the media.
Is there a problem with the way media handles these things nowadays?
Pie, Pie Birdie
Matt is more upset about losing the pie celebrations than about anything else this offseason. He thinks the only possible real explanation is that the MASN headsets keep getting ruined.
Baltimore Sports in Pop Culture
Are you guys familiar with the old “Apple Core” prank? Bert takes us back in time with some Donald Duck and Chip & Dale cartoons. Joe Flacco and Cal Ripken, Jr. also show up in this week’s segment.
Ravens Talk
Albert McClellan is back. Trent Richardson is rumored to be on the team’s radar. Joe Flacco is about to restructure his deal.
Terps Talk
The Terps continue to fall off a cliff at the worst possible time, losing to Purdue on Saturday and seeing their ranking plummet to #14 after being as high as number 2 this year. Again, the Terps got crushed on the glass, which has been an Achilles heel all season.
Ball Bag
What do you think about Kirk Cousins getting the franchise tag from the Redskins?
Who is the “weirdest” team in baseball? Why does SB Nation say it’s the Orioles?
Who will be the starting right fielder on Opening Day?
What’s everyone looking forward to in Sarasota?
Check back next week for all our Spring Training stories, updates, interviews, and more!
