Reading Time: 2 minutes

Today we are joined by Eric Arditti (@BarstoolRDT) former Eutaw Street Report intern and current blogger for Barstool sports. We talk Chris Davis, Crush, The Big Fella, The Deputy, The Mayor of Dong City, and some other stuff.

Chris Davis

We’re not even leading off today – we’re just starting with the cleanup batter. Let’s get into this new Chris Davis contract. Here are some angles from ESR writers so far:

KNEE-JERK REACTIONS: Davis Re-signs at 7/161 – ESR Staff

Chris Davis is Right Player, Right Price for the O’s – Matt Sroka

Davis Contract Will Set O’s Back for Years – Tony Lombardi

15 Reasons I’m Excited to Have Crush Back – Ryan Blake

A Walk Down Memory Lane with Crush Davis – Derek Arnold

Can this offense score 15 runs per game? We saw in 2014, and with the Blue Jays last year, that mashing your way to a pennant is nearly impossible.

Who will pitch for this team? Yovani Gallardo? Mike Wright? Doug Fister? Tyler Wilson? Brian Matusz? T.J. McFarland? Jason Garcia? Dylan Bundy? Vance Worley?

There are obviously more questions than answers when it comes to Birdland arms.

7 Years, $161 Million

Matt says that the Tigers were obviously the other team in the Davis negotiations.

How does the deferred money affect your view of this deal? Just like the Mets have Bobby Bonilla day, the Birds will now have Chris Davis day.

Even Justin Upton got an opt-out (after year two) with his new deal in Detroit. How much credit does Dan Duquette deserve for getting the Davis deal with no player opt-out?

Matt calls some NERDS out by name:

Matt Kremnitzer of Camden Depot

Jon at Camden Depot

Bird’s Eye View

Jeff Long of Baseball Prospectus

Tony Lombardi (love ya TL!)

This Davis contract should scare you. It could cost them Adam and/or Manny down the road.

It did NOTHING to improve the Orioles.

Matt rips into all of these opinions.

Ball Bag

Should the National League adopt the designated hitter?

What do we do with all these 1B prospects now?

Who will play right field?

What should the name of the new Norfolk Tides seahorse be?

Wave argument.
