Section 336 is back in studio. This week the are the baseball winter meetings, and hey, the Orioles have been kinda busy!
Also on the show, Orioles reliever Jason Garcia joins us. Tune in!
Leading Off
Josh broke an awesome sign that was a gift from a a listener (thanks Jimmy!), but he fixed it!
The Ravens continue to add more and more players that we’ve never heard of, thanks to the never-ending string of injuries, and now, a suspension! That’s new and fun.
On the baseball side, the Winter Meetings & Rule 5 draft are both this week. Let’s get into some O’s talk:
Interview with Jason Garcia
Jason Garcia joined us to talk about the Rule 5 draft, the Orioles, relieving vs. starting, and much more. Interview starts at 17:00.
O’Day’s Back
The Birds will make the Darren O’Day re-signing official later this week. Interestingly enough, O’Day was once a Rule 5 pick just like Garcia.
What do you think of the new O’Day contract? What do you think about O’Day tweeting that the deal WASN’T done?
Matt doesn’t understand why the O’Day contract is so great, but last year everyone was saying that Andrew Miller was “too expensive.” He also isn’t sold on Mychal Givens.
Stupid Pitcher Salaries
David Price, Zach Greinke, even Hisashi Iwakuma are getting tons of money to pitch. The guys don’t see how the O’s will be able to sign anybody to bolster the rotation in a meaningful way.
Davis
The Birds reportedly have an offer in the $150 million range on the table for Chris Davis. Davis hasn’t rejected or accepted the offer, but how long can the O’s wait around for him?
Also, that is NOT a hometown discount.
Whole Foods Organization
Adam Jones on Orioles: 'We're not going back Wal Mart steak. We're a Whole Foods type of organization"
— Rob Bradford (@bradfo) December 4, 2015
Agree? Which organization is a “Wal Mart” organization?
