Today on the show….. Bert provides some insider information from Ravens practice, Chris Davis is back and better than ever… well almost better than ever, and Orioles say bye bye to Bert’s favorite player, but first…
Leading Off
Finally, we’re back in studio and joined by the World’s Worst Intern. First off, big ups to the guys at Bird’s Eye View for throwing another great event in the 2nd annual Birdland Bash.
For as much flak as the O’s organization takes for not being able to develop players, they had six homegrown players on the field last night. Who were they?
Fond Farewells
Tommy Hunter was traded to the Cubs for Junior Lake, a minor league infielder. Bud Norris was DFA’d. Chris Parmelee was DFA’d.
Have any issues with those moves? Bert is obviously personally offended by the Norris move, but what else?
O.Co Grossiseum
Man, Oakland’s stadium is awful. Buck says he has to make sure the players wash their hands when they go there, because it seems like somebody always gets sick. There was a damn opossum running around last night, and the A’s announcers acted like it was a normal thing.
This Weekend
The O’s are off to Anaheim to face Mike Trout and the scuffling Angels, who they are chasing in the Wild Card race. Chris Tillman is scheduled to pitch Friday, and he usually does well in his hometown.
Who gon’ do ril good? The guys take a guess…
Ball Bag
Can we finally say Crush Davis is back?
Is Tyler Wilson evidence that the Orioles can develop pitching?
Will Matt Wieters be more or less memorable than Mickey Tettleton?
What moves will the O’s make in August?
Will there be three AL East teams in the postseason?
What did Bert see at Ravens practice?
What should Josh’s new jersey be? Who’s a safe Raven? A safe Oriole?
