This week on the show, the guys are having a Throwback Thursday, recording in-studio on Thursday night, like they used to. Matt just went through a job search and knows how Nick Markakis felt, Josh has a few new buttons, and Bert’s a very proud papa.
Leading Off
Matt tells a story about finding a new job, and maybe understanding what Nicky Mark went through this offseason, in a way. Will “all business” Dan Duquette sour players the same way this coming offseason?
The O’s took two of three from the Mariners, but it wasn’t pretty, and Brian Matusz did everything he could to lose the game today. What does Matt think about his boy?
The O’s crowd gave nice welcome. When should you cheer or boo former Orioles who return to Camden Yards?
Old News
17 years ago this week was perhaps the greatest brawl in O’s history at Yankee Stadium. Armando Benitez drilled Tino Martinez in the back, and the fists started to fly.
Watch that video, because the camera crew did a great job of staying with the fight, unlike today when they’d probably show a bit less.
In other old news, Brooks Robinson had a birthday this week.
This Weekend
Can Mike Wright follow up his great debut with another strong performance? He gets to go against the Marlins, so that should help. The O’s get to play in the gaudiest stadium ever constructed, what with its aquariums and crazy jumping marlin display, and everything being aquamarine colored.
The Marlins seem to be trying to make their own baseball movie, as they have just made their GM their manager. They’ve also lost seven games in a row, so hopefully the O’s can take advantage.
Moneyball Managers?
Will we start to see more GM-types in the dugout? Can you “overdo moneyball,” or do some teams just outthink themselves?

#VoteOrange – what do you think about all-star voting in general?
Is Mike Wright a great sign of things to come from Norfolk pitchers?
