EutawStreetReport.com will be showcasing our craziest, most spirited fans sighted attending home games throughout the season.
Name: Jordan Collins
Age: 23
Occupation: Student
Hometown: Perry Hall
You may have seen Jordan towards the end of the season last year and in the playoffs. You’ll immediately recognize him as the fan wearing the “Dumb and Dumber” outfit, complete with a Carne Cabeza standard issue mask. I had the pleasure of interviewing him, and here’s what he had to say:
Does your fan “character” have a name?
It’s a toss-up right now between Mr. O or Los O’s. Maybe if I get enough followers I’ll do a fan vote, and let the people decide.
Tell me a little about yourself:
I am a life-long Orioles fan; been that way since I could remember. I started attending games since I was about 6 or 7, with the family. I am a huge sports fan, whether it’s baseball, football, basketball, or hockey. Right now, I am enrolled at school to be a radio/TV broadcaster, interning at 105.7 The Fan, as well as working part time in a pizza place and a local liquor store. My ultimate goal is to be a staple in the Baltimore Sports Radio market. I am so dedicated to the Orioles, that I felt compelled to have the Orioles tattooed on my leg.
How many games do you plan on attending this year?
I am planning on attending as many games as my school schedule will allow. Last year I was able to attend 12-15 games, including one of the playoffs. I had tickets for the ALCS, if that were to come to fruition, which unfortunately, as we all know, it did not.
Where do you normally hang out at games?
Normally it’s either at the Yard or at my brother’s place, which is not too far from the stadium. This year will be stopping in at bars surrounding Camden Yards, so look out!
What inspired you to be a crazy Orioles fan?
You see [the crazy fandom] at football games all across the country. The dream is to bring a football like atmosphere to baseball games in Baltimore.
What is your craziest experience from when you were dressed up?
There hasn’t been anything too crazy, just yet. One of the most fun experiences I’ve had was game one of the ALDS. I ran into Carne Cabeza and a huge crowd shortly followed.
Who is your favorite Oriole (current or all time)?
Tough to pick anyone really, but my current Orioles might have to be Chris Davis (The Deputy) and Adam Jones (Jonesy). But as for throwback, Mike Bordick or Chris Hoiles. They were always fun to watch even if they weren’t the big names of the time.
How many Orioles wins do you predict for THIS season?
Bringing back most of the squad we had last year plus guys coming off injuries and now being healthy, a 87-95 win season is what I see for us this year.
Anything else you would like to add?
Only thing to add is just my Baltimore themed tattoo and I hope to see everyone at The Yard. Remember this is BIRDLAND!!! BUCKLE UP Baltimore! Your boys of summer are the real deal!
