(to be clear…the beer is back. No word on the ol’ Natty Boh bar, pictured above)
O’s & Natty Boh’s, hon!
Two things that go together like Forrest & Jenny & peas and carrots, yet not since 2016 have Birds fans been able to enjoy a cold Boh while taking in a game at the Yard.
That’s all set to change in 2024. The team sent out a press release today, announcing the welcome news.
Fans can once again enjoy National Bohemian, unofficially known as Natty Boh, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. As part of their partnership, Natty Boh will serve a specialty baseball-themed orange can sold exclusively at the ballpark, allowing fans to enjoy the iconic taste of Charm City while cheering on the O’s.
Please spare me the lecture about Boh no longer being brewed in Baltimore. Everyone knows that, man! There are plenty of other options for beer drinkers who prefer to drink an actual local beer, but a man can only have so many Union Steady Eddies. Sometimes I just want a light and refreshing cold one, and when Mr. Boh is winking at me from the side of that can while I watch another majestic Gunnar Henderson home run clear the right field scoreboard, all just feels right with the world.
The only way this could be better is if draft beer would reappear…
For non-beer drinkers, there is more good news: Coca-Cola products are back, replacing Pepsi after five years. (Personally I prefer Pepsi, but I can’t remember the last time I bought a soda at a ballpark.)
On Friday, we got news that Jackson Holliday would be starting the season in AAA. However, with today’s headlines that both: A) Natty Boh is BACK, and B) the sale to the Rubenstein group is expected to be finalized on Wednesday, the vibes are back to approaching immaculate levels here in Birdland.
Now, if we could only get a positive update on this weather forecast…
