Well, after all that waiting, MLB has finally announced their decision on Manny Machado’s suspension appeal, and the news isn’t good for O’s fans…
Major League Baseball has upheld Manny Machado’s 5-game suspension. He will begin serving the suspension tonight.

Of course, Manny has just started to heat up at the plate. He had four hits over the weekend series against the Rays, including three home runs, while adding five runs driven in.
Unfortunately, he won’t be able to help his team again until Saturday when the O’s are in Boston.
While Machado certainly deserves a suspension for tossing his bat onto the field of play against the Oakland Athletics earlier this month, it’s a bit of a head-scratcher that A’s pitcher Fernando Abad received only a fine for throwing at Manny twice.
At the “State of the Orioles” event before the game on Saturday, Dan Duquette called the situation a “gross inequity.”
Inequity or not, the suspension stands, and the Birds will be Machado-less this week.
