One of these days, we’ll have an Orioles spring training win to talk about. It won’t matter, of course, but it will certainly feel good to get off the darn schneid. For those of you who can’t help but being worry warts though, I offer this:

The 2012 Gnats team won 98 games. That’s not to say that the 2016 Orioles will too, just to remind everyone that these results don’t matter. Don’t worry too much. Onto the links.

Five Games to Circle on the O’s April Schedule

Every winter, we sit around counting down the days until pitchers and catchers report, and then until spring training games start, every year forgetting that all these fake games do is to make us want REAL baseball that much more. Thus begins the long slog through March waiting for April. Jake of Bird’s Eye View couldn’t wait any longer, so he looked ahead and picked out five games in the season’s first month for Birds fans to look especially forward to.

When to Worry About Hyun-soo Kim…Not Any Time Soon

Kim got his first hit yesterday! So that means we can stop worrying about him, right? Well, you kinda shouldn’t have been worrying about him anyway, as Jon Shepherd of Camden Depot goes into exquisitely nerdy detail to explain.

10 Takeaways from Orioles Spring Training

Mike Long went down to Sarasota to watch the Birds, and over at Baltimore Sports Report he gives us 10 things that he learned while he was down there. Yes, even though they’re not winning any games, there are still plenty of positives.

It’s Not the Strikeouts

The Orioles are going to strike out a ton. We know that. Some fans are already starting to get mad at the players for that, which strikes (!) me as kinda silly. These guys are who they are – it’s not their fault that Dan Duquette has decided to collect all of them on the same roster. Anyway, Paul Sporer of Baltimore Sports and Life says that it’s not really the K’s that are going to be the Birds’ bugaboo this year. It’s the lack of walks to offset them.

What Type of Baseball Dork are You?

A hitting dork, a pitching dork, or a fielding dork? I knew before I even saw the videos at the bottom that my answer was a fielding dork, but come on, Jeff Sullivan of FanGraphs…you should have used a video of Manny Machado’s defensive highlights. Not an O’s link per se, just a fun read for us baseball dorks.
