For a plethora of reasons that we don’t need to go into here, John Lackey is an a-hole. Which makes beating him – as the O’s are currently doing, mercilessly – all the more fun.
Nelson Cruz hit a home run in the third inning to give the O’s a 5-2 lead, and just barely missed hitting his second of the day in the 5th, launching a liner off the corner of the out-of-town scoreboard in right. Two batters later, J.J. Hardy knocked Cruz in with a two-out single, and Lackey had the following reaction:
As I’m writing this post, Delmon Young just launched a two-run shot of his own off Lackey, and the Birds not lead 8-3.
Thanks, John!
