Saturday, April 20th was the first of 10 Junior Orioles Dugout Club dates on the Orioles home schedule.

My kids and I joined our friends and thousands of other Dugout Club members for the Orioles’ 6-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers, which completed a double-header sweep.

With games remaining against the Rays (2), Tigers, Indians, Rangers, Astros, Mariners, A’s and White Sox, young O’s fans and their families are primed and excited to watch the Orioles record more victories throughout the season. The upper deck was filled with young fans sporting their O’s backpacks, hats, lanyards and bracelets. They also took advantage of the kid zone, face painting, discount food and drink prices and the giveaway, a poster of Adam Jones, Nick Markakis and Nolan Reimold doing their end of game victory celebration (our posters are already hung on the bedrooms walls!)

It was fitting on a night when the Orioles remembered the late Earl Weaver that 20-year-old third baseman Manny Machado connected for a three-run home run and the Orioles turned three double plays behind the pitching of Wei-Yin Chen and Tommy Hunter.

See you on May 18th for an AL East battle against the Rays!
