So the story all day long has been about the idiot Boston fans who hurled both a bag of peanuts and racial slurs at Adam Jones during the game last night.
A few hours ago, Mookie Betts took to Twitter to implore the Boston faithful to atone for last night’s sins of a few by showing the good in many.
Fact: I'm Black too ✊????Literally stand up for @SimplyAJ10 tonight and say no to racism. We as @RedSox and @MLB fans are better than this.

And, lo and behold, they followed through:
.@SimplyAJ10 gets standing ovation from the Fenway faithful. pic.twitter.com/ZUiU7Aqhz7

That was a nice moment. Good on you, Boston fans. Of course, it was just one moment. The proof will be, as they say, in the pudding. Will African American players get treated differently at Fenway from now on? After all, this is apparently nothing new at all for them:

Of course, Chris Sale went and ruined ALL of those good vibes just ONE BATTER LATER, when he threw behind Manny Machado.
after red sox fans gave a beautiful standing ovation to adam jones, the red sox spoil the good feeling 1 batter later.

Both benches were warmed, and #stupidbaseball continues.
