So apparently this happened over the weekend in DC.
I…um…huh?
I’ve seen an “RGIII” Orioles t-shirt/jersey at Oriole Park at Camden Yards before, and while I don’t have to like it, I get it. Some fans grew up rooting for the O’s and Washington Redskins when D.C. didn’t have a team. Those fans like to combine their dual-city allegiances and troll some Ravens fans when they come to Baltimore – again, I don’t like it, but I get it.
But this? This just boggles my mind.
Maybe this guy’s name is Ripken?
Maybe he used to be an Orioles fan back when Cal played, but switched to the Nationals when they moved from Montreal? But still wanted to honor his favorite player?
Whatever…still super weird. And quite disrespectful to the team that Cal, you know, actually played for.
