Mike Trout pulled a Bryce Harper on Thursday night. And not in a good way.
In the ninth inning of the Los Angeles Angels’ loss to the Baltimore Orioles , Nate McLouth blasted a deep fly to center. Trout took off, lept toward the wall — and if you’re like us, you started adding to your Mike-Trout-stolen-home-run tally … but then he missed it.
In fact, Trout’s glove gave the ball an assist as it rolled across the fence before dropping over — like a golf ball falling into a hole.
The moment was reminiscent of Bryce Harper’s play Tuesday night , when he crashed into the fence and helped a Tim Hudson homer over the wall. Harper also hurt himself in the process.
