The Baltimore Orioles (60-45) currently sit in first place in the American League East, but by the slimmest of margins, as their lead in front of both the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays is just one game. The New York Yankees are also hanging around in the race, being just 6.5 games back. As expected, it’s been a true dogfight in the division this year, and it should remain that way up until the final day of the regular season.
That being known, it’s going to take a really strong second half to come away with the division crown. For the Orioles, August’s slate of home games features some top teams in baseball, including the Washington Nationals and rival Red Sox. An overview of Baltimore’s top five home games, in terms of get-in ticket price, are presented below.
8/20 vs. Houston | Pitching Match-Up: TBD | Get-In Ticket Price: $22
The most expensive get-in ticket price in August will feature a Saturday night matchup between Houston and Baltimore. All fans that attend this game will receive a Chris “Crush” Davis bobblehead. Not only that, they’ll probably be treated to a boatload of runs as well. Baltimore’s offense currently paces the MLB in home runs, while the Astros are up there in the upper echelon as well. The O’s will need to slow down Jose Altuve and his league-leading .358 batting average. Fans that want tickets to this game should check-out TiqIQ, where the cheapest ticket can be found for $22.
8/23 vs. Washington | Pitching Match-Up: TBD | Get-In Ticket Price: $19
The Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles will get together for a late-August in a rare interleague four-game series (two at Camden Yards, two in D.C.). Washington (61-43) is currently five games ahead of the Miami Marlins in the NL East and is just one game behind the Chicago Cubs for the best record in the NL. Washington and Baltimore have not yet played one another in 2016, but always hook up for a handful of games each year due to their local rivalry. Additionally, it’s possible the two clubs could meet in the World Series down the line if everything goes according to plan, as both teams are legit contenders.
8/16 vs. Boston | Pitching Match-Up: TBD | Get-In Ticket Price: $19
The Red Sox will travel to Camden Yards for a brief two-game set that starts on Tuesday, August 16. Baltimore is 6-4 against Boston this season, but split a four-game series at Camden Yards earlier this year. Boston and Baltimore are still battling one another over the AL East crown, so this is undoubtedly going to be a huge showdown when the two clubs meet in a couple of weeks. As a result, there’s excellent value on this game with tickets.. Fans driving to this game can find cheap options for Camden Yards parking on ParkWhiz.com
8/17 vs. Boston | Pitching Match-Up: TBD | Get-In Ticket Price: $19
The second and final contest of this two-game set offers one of the highest get-in ticket prices in August. Boston and Baltimore will play eight more times, so playoff hopes for both teams will hang in the balance. The O’s will play more home games, which will provide an advantage given Baltimore’s prowess as a home team (37-16 home record). Fans that want to attend this game can check-out TiqIQ, where the get-in ticket price for this game is $19.
8/22 vs. Washington | Pitching Match-Up: TBD | Get-In Ticket Price: $18
A second game on Washington and Baltimore’s four-game set makes the list of top ticket prices in August. In fact, this matchup, which will be played on Monday, August 22, offers a cool giveaway, too. All fans that attend this game will receive a Wicker Weave Ballcap. Not only that, this is a rare interleague rivalry showdown between two clubs that are expected to continue to make noise the rest of the way. More likely than not, this should be a very good entertaining ballgame, and the get-in ticket price is relatively low at just $18.
