Welcome to Staturday! It was another interesting week in Orioles’ baseball, so let’s get to it!
We’ve been lucky to have Chris Davis and while his batting average is nothing to boast about, he’s provided the Orioles a ton of power:
Most home runs in MLB since 2012:
- Chris Davis – 175
- Edwin Encarnacion – 169
- Nelson Cruz – 151
- Mike Trout – 147
Davis added to this total this past week during a pretty awesome home run streak:
Chris Davis now has five straight games with a home run. This is the fifth such streak in Orioles history.
Earlier this year the Orioles outslugged the Red Sox and earlier this week we were outslugged by the Jays, and here’s a weird fact to sum it up:
This year, the Orioles have both lost a game with nine runs & five homers and also won a game where the opponent scored nine runs with five homers.

Thank goodness for Chris Tillman. He’s had a few rough starts but otherwise he’s been our rock this year and we wouldn’t be in first place without him:
The Orioles are 12-2 when Chris Tillman starts. Outside of that: 26-26.
