So, earlier this week, this happened:

It was sad, to be sure. While it was odd enough to not see Nick Markakis running around with his former O’s teammates down in Sarasota – and even odder seeing him in Braves gear – most of us have, at this point, pretty much moved on, I’d think. Still, there was this one last step to take, the removing of the huge billboard of Nick that had been presiding over Eutaw Street for so many years.
So, who would take the mantle next to Adam Jones up there now? O’s fans were left wondering, but it’s doubtful that many would end up being proven right…
As today, we found out:

That’s an…interesting choice. The Orioles won the American League East by 12 games a year ago! They have A LOT of good players!
While I can perhaps understand not wanting to put up a huge picture of guys that might be gone next year (Matt Wieters, Chris Davis, etc.), the powers that be couldn’t come up with any other player who they felt deserved this spot?
How about Chris Tillman, working on an extension with the team right now?
Or J.J. Hardy, who signed an extension last year and who, like Jones, is locked up through 2018?
Manny Machado?
Heck, even Buck Showalter would have been a better choice than a Gemini Adam Jones.
What do you think?

I really don’t know what the issue is? You guys need some real baseball to write about soon. Hes,a 4 time Allstars and has the longest tenure with the team along with Tillman. He’s also signed long term and is the unequivocal leader.
