Last night at Fenway Park, the Orioles put together an incredible comeback, putting up five runs in the ninth inning (four with two outs) to beat the Red Sox 8-5.
The game produced some great moments for O’s fans, who have been hungry for some Orioles Magic here early on in the 2013 campaign.
Chris Davis started the party with a long home run to straightaway centerfield that cut the Boston lead to 5-4. At that point – and especially after two quick outs – it was just looking like just another one-run loss for the O’s early in the season.
For our first GIF, check out the lovely young lady sitting behind home plate when Davis makes contact. Despite the fact that it was still very likely that her team would win at the point, she busted out the good ol’ one-finger salute.
LOL. Screw you too, Sawx fan lady.
After Davis’ HR, Matt Wieters struck out and J.J. Hardy popped up (I know, I can’t believe it either), before Ryan Flaherty finally notched his first hit of the season and Nolan Reimold and Nate McLouth worked walks.
With the bases loaded, Sox closer Joel Hanrahan unleashed a 55-foot slider that scooted to the backstop, and the Birds tied the game 5-5.
On the very next pitch, Manny Machado went yard for the first time in 2013.
O’s magic is alive and well, boys and girls. Let’s get the series tonight.
