Nelson Cruz just launched an absolute MOON SHOT to give the Orioles a 3-0 lead over the Twins at Target Field.
It was the O’s first home run of the night, though they could have easily had several more. Matt Wieters hit balls off the right field and center field walls (and was about five feet total from having home runs in three consecutive at bats going back to his walk-off last night), and Manny Machado smoked one off the left field wall and another that would’ve hit the center field wall had a leaping Sam Fuld not gotten in the way.
In fact, it was just as I was typing a tweet about the O’s close calls that Nellie finally put one out.
O's could easily have 4 home runs tonight. LOL. NELSON AS I TYPE IT HITS THE THIRD DECK

Here’s a GIF, c/o our own Gordon Dixon:
And video:
It was estimated at 424 feet, but that’s only because the stadium got in the way.
Ubaldo Jimenez is currently cruising, and has a shutout going through six innings and 96 pitches. We’ll see if the Birds try to squeeze one more inning out of him. The way he’s throwing, I’d expect they will.
