On Friday night in the O’s 8-5 series-opening win over the Toronto Blue Jays, Adam Jones showed off his shoulder-cannon, nailing Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia as he tried to stretch a single into a double.
The throw was made all the more impressive by the fact that Jones didn’t have time to camp under the ball and line up the throw, like you’d typically see on a fly-ball outfield assist. Jones instead was forced to spin and basically throw without looking.
It didn’t matter – the throw was a perfect strike.
