Happy Staturday Birdland! It was an awesome week that ended sour. Let’s get that taste out of our mouths.

After 20 games, the Orioles were 14-6. Here are the years and results after going 14-6 (or better) in the past:

  • 1997: Lost ALCS
  • 1970: Won WS
  • 1968: 2nd AL East
  • 1966: Won WS

On Wednesday, the Orioles won on a rare walk-off walk, courtesy of Seth Smith:

The Orioles won on a walk-off walk for the first time since June 26th, 2007 & the 21st time in team history.

Mark Trumbo has only two home runs in 2017 but he’s made them count:

  • A walk-off on Opening Day
  • A grand slam versus the Yankees

Both Mark Trumbo and Jacoby Ellsbury hit grand slams on Friday night:

Friday marked the first time both the Yankees and Orioles recorded grand slams in the same game.

Finally, the Orioles’ starting pitching has been a huge part of their early success in 2017:

For the third time in team history and the first time since 1968, the Orioles have two pitchers (Dylan Bundy and Wade Miley) who’ve started four or more games with an ERA of 2.10 or lower in March or April.
