Happy Staturday Birdland! Let’s get right to this week’s stats!

On Wednesday, Zach Britton allowed an earned run, proving Britton is after all human and ending his streak of scoreless appearances:

Most consecutive outs recorded by relief pitcher without allowing an earned run, in MLB history:

  1. Gregg Olson – 126
  2. Zach Britton 124
  3. Joe Sambito – 122

On Tuesday, our beloved Chris Davis did what he always does: smacked a dinger. Coincidentally, Oakland Athletics outfielder Khris Davis also hit a home run. Turns out, it wasn’t the first time this has happened:

Chris Davis & Khris Davis have homered on the same day 20 times – 4 of them in 2016.

Last night, Manny Machado slugged his 30th home run of 2016, setting a team record:

Manny’s 30th home run gives the Orioles three players with 30+ homers. The Orioles are the first team in 2016 with three such players and this is the first time the Orioles have done so in team history.

That’s all for this week. Enjoy today’s matinee! If you want to see more stats like these, give @BirdlandStats a follow on Twitter.
