Happy Staturday Birdland! What an awesome June it’s been! This week’s theme is power; so let’s get to it!

The Os started last weekend with a sweep of their double-header against the Rays and an especially powerful performance from their bats in game two:

Last Saturday, the Orioles hit four home runs in their tenth game of the year. No other team has more than seven such games.

Here’s the useless but fun stat of the week brought to you by leadoff hitter, Adam Jones:

Adam Jones’ home run on Tuesday was the forty-second home run in Orioles’ history hit on two or fewer pitches (from the opponent) into the game.

The Os offense has carried them this year and this week was no different. They achieved a scoring streak only accomplished three other times in team history:

This past Wednesday the Orioles scored double-digit runs in a third straight game, tying the team record also accomplished in ‘83, ’96, ’03.

As you all probably know, the Os set the June home run record at fifty-six but they also had a pretty epic batting average:

The Orioles are the first team to have a .300+ batting average in June since the 2010 Rangers.
