Section 336 Pod 202: Insane Ideas

Today on the show, baseball is here again as pitchers and catchers report to Sarasota. Some O’s are missing time to play in the WBC. Big deal? We also break down the O’s promotional schedule.

O’s Talk

Bert is back in studio this week after Ryan Blake pinch hit for him on the last show.

Adam Jones and Dan Duquette had a weird sort of public squabble this week.

Every O’s fan’s favorite – the PROJECTIONS – are out, and it’s the usual story as far as our squad goes. Fangraphs says 78 wins. PECOTA says 73 wins.

The O’s picked up Gabriel Ynoa from the Mets for…cash. Probably best to temper expectations.

World Baseball Classic/Rule Changes

Do you watch it? Do you care? Are you just annoyed that players miss time with their MLB teams?

MLB is thinking about tweaking the rules in extra innings. We have some better ideas than putting a runner on second base.

Promotions & Giveaways

It’s our first show since the O’s announced this year’s giveaways. We go through the list and talk about what we’re most excited for.

3 Up, 3 Down

Bert – Dewey Beach is UP, Dogs are DOWN (Ed. Note – this is the zaniest nonsense Bert has ever said.)

Matt – the NBA is UP, watching An American Tail on Saturday night is DOWN

Josh – Podfathers podcast is UP, driving is DOWN
