Today we are joined in studio by ESR’s Ryan Blake to talk about the greatest quarterback, the greatest Oriole game, and the greatest Twitterer. We also recap the Super Bowl and how it affects the Ravens, and Matt convinces you that the Orioles can afford to sign Manny Machado long term.

Leading Off

Ryan is good at Twitter, and you should follow him @ryguyblake and @OriolesFanProbz.

Super Bowl Recap

The Falcons punched the Patriots in the mouth for a half-plus on Sunday, and looked to have the Super Bowl all but won. Then…somehow they let it slip away. Josh has a problem with Tom Brady winning the MVP. Is Brady the GOAT?

Ravens fans had flashbacks to the comeback-that-almost-was by the 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII.

How about Lady GaGa? Josh loved the drones, of course. Do we think she actually sang?

How can the Ravens get back in the postseason?

O’s Talk

Some good news – Ryan Flaherty is a free agent NEXT year. On top of that, the O’s re-signed ROBERT ANDINO (!!) to a minor-league deal.

Remember Game 162? Of course you do.

Why can teams with lower payrolls than the Orioles (8th-highest) afford to sign big names long-term, but everyone assumes that the O’s can’t sign Manny? They can afford a $30-40 million/year player or two.

Three Up, Three Down

Josh – Today’s weather was UP, parents are DOWN

Matt – Super Bowl commercials were UP, the Apple Store is DOWN

Ryan – Pitchers & catchers reporting by the next 336 Episode is UP, the Terps’ inability to close out games is DOWN
