Hopefully the Birds can follow the same script they used in Detroit, losing the first game of the series and then winning the final two, tonight in Boston. Kevin Gausman, who has been sparkling of late, takes on Cy Young candidate Rick Porcello, a guy the O’s have handled in the past. They’re assured at least of a winning road trip already, but 6-3 would be sah-weeeet.

Orioles Getting Varied Opinions on Steve Pearce’s Arm Injury

This is really disappointing, as it’s hard to conclude anything other than Pearce being out for the rest of the season. Three more home runs (and all runs scored via those) last night in Boston, and the Birds are now on pace for 260 home runs, which would be second-most all-time, and just four off the all-time record. With a bunch of games remaining in homer-happy OPACY (11), Rogers Centre (3), and Yankee Stadium (3), this could get VERY interesting.

What Grinds My Gears: You’re Tailgating Wrong

Hey Adam, bite me. I break pretty much every one of these rules except the Kan Jam one. I’m sure he also has beef with my game of choice, hillbilly horseshoes.
