Manny Machado was basically just photobombed by A.Rod

four guys posed for picture at concert

It’s been a slow and frustrating offseason around these parts, so Orioles faithful have been glad for pretty much any bit of news regarding Manny Machado as he rehabs from knee surgery following the gruesome (though not as bad as it looked) injury he suffered last September.

However, though his rehab is reportedly going well, Manny popped up in a bit of an unexpected way last week, catching us a little off guard.

Machado and best friend/future brother-in-law Yonder Alonso were photographed at a Jay-Z concert in South Florida with :gasp!: Alex Rodriguez.

A.Rod tweeted the picture of the three major leaguers, and O’s fans everywhere just rolled their eyes.

We know that Manny idolized ARod as a boy growing up – they’re both shortstops (originally) from the Miami area, so Rodriguez was a no-brainer as a role model.

Until that whole steroid thing, of course.

Curious about the company his young star was keeping, Buck Showalter reportedly asked Machado about it. Per Roch Kubatko of MASN, it seems that – according to Manny – Rodriguez basically just showed up for a few minutes, took a picture, and left.

Just long enough to cause trouble. Typical ARod.

So there you have it. Rodriguez basically just photobombed Machado. Nothing more to see here.

In more pertinent matters…
