Game Thread: Rangers (37-44) @ Orioles (42-39)

The Birds continue their (so far disappointing) 11-game home stand against teams with losing records as the Texas Rangers come to town for a four-game set.

With Manny Machado’s five-game suspension being upheld by MLB, the Birds will be without the 2013 Platinum Glove winner for this entire series as well as Game 1 of the weekend set in Boston.

However, that certainly doesn’t mean that Buck Showalter is ready to let Ryan Flaherty get a few starts at third base. That would just be silly.

Check out the lineup…

Nick Markakis RF

Steve Pearce 1B

Nelson Cruz LF

Adam Jones CF

Chris Davis 3B

Delmon Young DH

J.J. Hardy SS

Jonathan Schoop 2B

Caleb Joseph C

Ubaldo Jimenez P (2-8, 4.70 ERA)

Shin-Soo Choo LF

Robinson Chirinos C

Rougned Odor 2B

Rangers Lost 1

Rangers 2-8

Davis started 17 games at 3B after being traded from Texas in 2011. He has 66 career starts at 3B.

Saunders is inexplicably 7-0 vs. the Orioles in his career.
