As Jose Bautista challenges his throne atop the list of Birdland Villains, David Ortiz continues to struggle this year in Boston. The 39-year-old is hitting just .232/.320./.409, with 10 homers. His .729 OPS would be the lowest of his career.

Heartbreaking, I know.

Last night in the O’s 6-4 win, Sloppy was 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, and the MASN cameras not only caught him having a little fit, they also replayed it in the post-game show.

They know what we want to see.

Funny, he didn’t beat up the phone in his own dugout.

Of course, as they always seem to do with their villains, the Birds figured out a way to let Sloppy be the potential hero for his team. Zach Britton allowed a walk and an RBI double and Ortiz came to the plate as the potential tying run in the ninth inning.

He lined out harmlessly to Manny Machado to end the game. Here’s to another two wholly unproductive games from him this week.
